Fundraising Tips

Take the First Step

+

Make the first donation yourself.  Show everyone that you are committed to the cause and they will be more likely to follow your lead.

Customize your Page

+

People give to people. Upload your picture, a picture of the person(s) you are walking for, and why you are participating in the walk/run.

Spread the Word

+

Share your personal page on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.  Email a link to your page to your contact list and encourage folks to join you, support you and forward the link to others.

Be a Match Maker

+

Find out if your employer matches donations.  If they do, complete their matching gift form and double the impact of your donation.

Host an Event

+

Get closer to your fundraising goal by hosting a fundraiser prior to the day of the walk/run:  bake sale, change collections, wine tasting, children’s read-a-thon, etc.

Share your Progress

+

Periodically email family, friends, team members with your progress toward your fundraising goal and celebrate major milestones such as: the number of team members you have registered; amount raised toward goal; etc.

Celebrate your Success

+

Let everyone know how much was raised to support the Whittingham Cancer Center and the important role they played in achieving this success.
